Most of us panic when it comes time to tend the delicate skin of the newborn. The difference is that we’re not struggling to survive in a totally new, completely alien atmosphere, replete with threats of yeast in diapers, irritation from soaps and lotions, and a thousand other threats every day.

Most parents will not avoid diapers altogether because of the mess involved, is the use of the right type of diaper. Unless your child has a problem, there is no real need to put baby oil on his or her skin. If your child has a dry, scaly skin rash, it is certainly harmless to try baby oil as a type of moisturizer for a while. If you ever have the opportunity to look at baby powder under a microscope you will see that the talc in the powder looks like jagged pieces of glass under magnification. It’s really hard to imagine how such a substance could be put on soft baby skin without being irritating. But in fact, the jagged edges of the talc flakes must be compensated for by the incredible smoothness and flat of the tiny plates of powder.
Cornstarch been known to support yeast growth, which is a chronic source of diaper rash and irritation. Therefore, want a good powder, use Caldesene. It’s available in a pink
the baby section of drugstores. This agent has talc, but it also anti-yeast substance that can help prevent diaper rash.
Pre-moistened paper wipes are safe to use at diaper provided the infant shows no allergic reaction to them.
